Definition of 10-15-20-25 year Workmanship Warranty: A lifetime workmanship warranty guarantees that the workmanship involved in the installation of your roof is covered for the entire lifespan of the roof. This means that if any issues arise due to improper installation or workmanship errors, Rebel Roofer will address and rectify these issues at no additional cost to you, for as long as you own the home.
Exceptions to the 10-15-20-25 Workmanship Warranty:
- Natural Wear and Tear: The warranty does not cover natural wear and tear or aging of the roofing materials over time.
- Acts of Nature: Damage caused by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, or hail, is not covered.
- Improper Maintenance: Issues arising from the homeowner’s failure to perform regular maintenance or follow recommended care guidelines are excluded.
- Alterations or Repairs by Others: Any damage or issues caused by alterations, repairs, or installations performed by anyone other than Rebel Roofing void the warranty.
- Material Defects: Defects in the roofing materials themselves are not covered by the workmanship warranty but may be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Structural Issues: Problems caused by structural issues of the home, such as settling, foundation movement, or structural alterations, are not included.
- Misuse or Neglect: Damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or intentional acts by the homeowner or others is not covered.

- Pre-existing Conditions: The warranty does not cover issues arising from pre-existing conditions or original installation flaws not addressed in the repair.
- Acts of Nature: Damage caused by natural disasters or severe weather events is not covered.

FOUR (4) LIES THAT SHINGLE MANUFACTURER'S DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW
In the roofing industry, homeowners are often misled by several common misconceptions about shingles. Here are the four major lies you frequently hear:
THEY HAVE A 30-40-50 YEAR LIFETIME GUARANTEE: Many homeowners are told that their shingles come with a 30-year guarantee. However, this can be misleading. While manufacturers may offer a 30-year warranty, it often comes with numerous conditions and exclusions. These warranties typically cover only manufacturing defects and may be prorated, meaning the coverage decreases over time. Additionally, they do not account for installation errors or environmental factors that can significantly reduce the lifespan of the shingles. The expected service life of a 30-year product, if properly cared for, is approximately 15-20 years, but it can be as short as 12-15 years if not maintained properly.
THERE’S A NEW LINE THAT’S FUNGUS AND ALGAE RESITANT: Homeowners might be told that there is a new line of shingles that are completely resistant to fungus and algae. While some shingles are treated with algae-resistant granules, this does not make them immune to algae or fungus. This misconception arises because many traditional shingles use limestone as a filler in the manufacturing process, which provides a food source for algae and fungus. We have seen algae and fungus appearing as early as within two years, being treated, and then reappearing again. Over time, environmental factors and roof conditions can still lead to the growth of algae and fungus. Treatments may delay their appearance, but they are not a permanent solution.
GRANULAR LOSS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN OXIDIZED ASPHALT VS SBS SHINGLES: Homeowners are often unaware of the differences in durability between oxidized asphalt shingles and SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) modified shingles. Oxidized asphalt shingles are more prone to granular loss, especially under harsh weather conditions. This loss of granules significantly reduces the shingles’ ability to protect against UV rays and accelerates their deterioration.
